Bird cards

Recently I was asked to make some cards featuring birds as this is going to be the theme of a friend's daughter's new gift shop. I have started putting some cards together for her and had fun using some elements of the current Sale-a-Bration promotion, which is about to finish this Saturday, 31st March.

Better still, I have used some new products coming out in the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue that will be released this Sunday, 1st April.

Here are the cards I have created so far...

I also had some fun colouring too, although I need more practice!

Now I must fly as I have a medical appointment to attend and then I am traipsing off up to Launceston to spend some time with my past JAI Design Team members - Bronwyn Eastley and Tania Gould. It is going to be so much fun catching up, chatting and crafting!

My Craft Room!

I thought it was about time that I shared with you my finished craft room. Actually, is any craft room ever finished, aren't we always sorting and resorting and finding better ways to store what we have so we remember to utilise it...well that is really where mine is at. I can function in it and will see how my first stamp class goes in it, and over time I will sort it better and make it more functional and coordinated.

I have even been game to show you the insides of a couple of the cupboards that has items stored but not really sorted or organised in the best way, I am being brave and vulnerable here!

So here is the tour of my room as you enter it via the doorway and moving around it from left to right...

View from the doorway

Built-in Wardrobe used for storage (RHS just bags and taxation folders etc)

BigShot and Sewing Machine set up and space for friend to craft
Punch storage above spare desk.

My craft desk

Storage cupboards and bookshelves

Corner Cupboard with admin and market supplies, unopened SU! cardstock etc!

2nd Cupboard with retired stamps, 12x12 cardstock and DSP etc.

Bookshelves with current SU! stamps, tools & equipment, CM albums, reference material and resources.

Fold-away desk to be used for stamp classes, here is where a sofa bed will go for visitors.

Looking back toward doorway.
I hope you have enjoyed the tour of my new craft space and I look forward to sharing it with those who are coming to my next Stamp Class on Friday, 13 April. My usual first Friday of the month is Good Friday so I have rescheduled it to the week later. If you have any comments, suggestions or questions about my craft space please feel free to leave them here on my post of email me at maecollins2@gmail.com

JAI 110 - Sketch Challenge

Friday again and that means another challenge over at Just Add Ink. This week it is a Sketch Challenge that I put together for the team to do and many of them said 'it did their head in!'. I thought it was a fairly basic design and would be easy to follow. When you look at the great ideas by the Design Team you would wonder how they had any troubles as they have come up with some great cards and some have even flipped the sketch on its side for something a little different. Here is the sketch...

Anyway, here is the card I created using the sketch above...

Project Supplies:
Stamps:
Field Flowers (2-Step Stamping), Creative Elements, French Foliage
Cardstock:
Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Rose Red
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Rose Red
Accessories: Lace Ribbon Border Punch, White Ribbon, Jewels Basic Pearls, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stampin' Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

Now hop on over to the Just Add Ink blog to see what inspiration the other DT members have for you and then have a go at the sketch yourself and link up your project, whether it be a card or a scrapbook layout may even work well with this sketch.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend.

Some cards to share...

No, I haven't finished sorting my new craft space so no photos yet...although I am thinking of just sticking the last lot of stuff in a few boxes to go under the tables and then take photos of what I have set up and organised. I might see what the weekend brings, if I get it finished or not, I am really finding it hard to push myself to sort this lot out especially as I can still craft because my actual crafting desk is sorted! So here are some cards that I made yesterday and thought I would shere (excuse the photos as I took them very quickly this morning and didn't set up the shots very well).

Thanks for stopping by.

Chance to WIN...

Chance to win a one year subscription to Paper Crafter's Library...I would love that as I let my subscription lapse. They have great learning tools and that is the place I learnt how to successfully use my Bow Easy which had been sitting in my drawer for ages. I just couldn't follow the instructions, however, the video on Paper's Crafter's Library made it easy to follow...plus lots of other inspiration!

So why not join in and have a chance yourself to win...after I win a one year's subscription first of course! LOL

I just had to...

I just HAD to craft in my new space even though it is only partly organised...there is still so much stuff to put away and sort though! My craft desk is all set up to go and so with a market coming up this Sunday and it being the last one before Easter, I just had to make a few Easter items. Having been inspired by the talented Dawn Griffith on making some cute bunny faces to decorate little Easter baskets, I thought I would give them a go! However, I soon realised I didn't have the same size heart die that she used and also no Square Scallop Die to make the boxes, I needed to make my own adjustments and still come up with something similar and as cute!

Here is what I created...

Aren't they the cutest things! They will be great at Easter filled with little Easter Eggs...I didn't have any left from my recent Easter workshops...as I finished them off yesterday as I needed the energy to keep sorting through my craft stash...and so couldn't take a photo of them filled with Easter Eggs. LOL!

Product Supplies:
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Full Heart Punch, 3/4" Punch, 1/2" Punch, 1/4" Handheld Punch, Blossom Petals Builder Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Paper Piercer, Pretty in Pink and Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon, Silver Brads, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals, White Gel Pen and Basic Black Pen

I will now have to go back to sorting through more items and I have even cleaned up my desk after this craft session, my new room has a good influence on my, atleast at this stage!

Thanks for stopping by.

Ribbon Carousel Giveaway

Just thought some of you might be interested to know that the Ribbon Carousel Blog has a Ribbon Carousel (funny that!) to giveway for those who subscribe to their newsletter. I bought myself one for Christmas and you can see it here in this post with most of my Stampin' Up! ribbons on it...maybe I shouldn't be sharing this as I need to win the Ribbon Carousel for the rest of my SU! ribbons! LOL :)

JAI108 - Colour Challenge

It is that time of the week again for another Just Add Ink challenge and this week it is a Colour Challenge put forward by the talented Nikki Spencer, who was the focus of last week's CASE challenge.

Here is the colour combination...

I thought these colours would make a great masculine card and so using my latest stamp set The Open Sea I put this card together...

I was happy with the result.

Hop on over to the Just Add Ink blog and check out the other great ideas put together by the Design Team and then have a go at using these colours to make you own project and don't forget to link up your submission so we can all be inspired by your creations.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend. Hopefully I will be sharing with you soon some photos of my completed craft room with everything set up ready to go for some more crafting fun!

Moving in!

Just a quick snapshot of my new craft room BEFORE I move all my craft stuff in to it! THANKS SO MUCH to my dear husband who has spent the most part of his 4-week holidays getting it done for me...along with my help at times when I wasn't working or doing stamp workshops! Each step was a challenge as being an old house we found the floor slopes, the matching floorboards we bought weren't the same locking-in style as the others, so we had to take up some of the floorboards already laid to finish the job off to a reasonable standard...any many other little issues along the way that made it take so much longer!

Anyway, it is now completed and as soon as I post these two pictures here I am going to move in some of my craft stuff...so stay tuned for the final photos of my craft space...although it may take me a week or more to get it organised and sorted properly. PLUS, I have to take some time out before hubby goes back to work doing some things he likes...camping and fishing for a couple of days!
