JAI#137 - Sketch Challenge

Although it is not my week to either design or to do the weekly post for Just Add Ink I thought I would still join in with this week's sketch challenge.

As I had a wedding invitation come in the mail this week I thought why not make a wedding card and to use some of the new In Color Summer Starfruit that was sitting on my craft desk, plus, a colour combination from the new In Color Coach cards...and so this was the result...

Hop on over to the Just Add Ink blog to see what the other Design Team came up with using the sketch as inspiration and then join in the fun yourself.

JAI#136 - Just Add...Children/Kids cards

I know, I am a bad blogger of late and it has been over a week since I last posted here...but I seem to come in to my craft room, sit down and fiddly about, check my emails and a few blogs I follow...then get up and leave without creating anything! I need to focus more and get creative, like I did for my last stamp workshop...but I forgot to take a photo of those items I made and could have posted here.

Anyway on to the purpose of this week's post and that is to announce our weekly challenge over at Just Add Ink, which is to Just Add...Children/Kids cards. This is something I can manage as I have lots of nieces and nephews who fit this category and give me lots of inspiration.

Here is the card I made...

This image is not a SU! one but I think it is cute and I had fun colouring it (shh! I used Copics). I did use SU! cardstock and DSP as well as the ticket tag from the Lots of Tags Sizzlits set.

I hope you can join in with us this week at Just Add Ink and upload your children's card for us to see....don't forget to pop on over and check out the inspiration of ideas from other DT members for this week's challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy birthday Eli...for Friday!

Yes, today I am organised and have a card prepared and in the post BEFORE the actual birthday...oh well, my nephew did remind me when I was on the phone with him last night that his birthday was this Friday and he asked if I had made his card yet! I have a few nephews and nieces who like to get a handmade card from their Aunty Mae and they get disappointed if I don't come through...so this week I have been better organised.

Project Recipe:
Stamps: The Open Sea, For My Family
Cardstock/Paper: Basic Gray, Whisper White, Nautical Expedition DSP (retired)
Ink: Basic Gray, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Bitty Banners Framelits, Island Indigo Bakers Twine, Pewter Brads, Circle Cutters (CM), Stampin' Dinemsionals, Sponge Daubers

I hope he likes it, although I am sure he would have much preferred a fishing rod or a football on there somewhere but I don't have any stamps with those in my craft stash...might have to remedy this.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

JAI #134 - Just Add...Polka Dots!

Friday today so that means time again for another weekly challenge from Just Add Ink and this time it is to...

Just Add...Polka Dots!

I had fun with this card and also using some of my new Stampin' Up! products.

Don't forget to pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog and check out what the other Design Team did with this challenge of using polka dots!

I am going to be in trouble!

With my niece that is...as I have forgotten to pop her birthday card in the post today (or it should really have been earlier) to arrive in Victoria tomorrow for her birthday, sorry Leah! Hopefully her mum doesn't pop in her before it arrives and show her that I have posted it on my blog before it gets to her! Anyway here is the card I made for her using the newly released Floral District DSP, which I coordinated with Tangerine Tango and Lucky Limeade cardstock, and then made a beautiful embossed butterfly using Tempting Turquoise. I added some ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment pack I still had from one of many earlier purchases (the benefits of being a demonstrator, you get stuff at a 20% discount, and so it is easy for your stash to grow and grow and grow!).

Here is the card I made for my beautiful niece Leah...

The decorated inside (see Karen B I do it sometimes!)
Talking about being in trouble, you should have seen my craft room just a few days before my new Catalogue Launch. A friend had kindly offered to help me rearrange it, thanks Jody-ann, so it would work better having the couch/bed in there as well as all my craft stash. We moved things around but as we did it quickly and didn't remove all the items in the cupboards before we moved them, some needed some fixing to strengthen them and to get them to look more straight, considering the floor is not level either! My dear husband offered to do that a couple of nights before my catalogue launch and so I therefore had to empty the cupboards for him to do that and this is what it looked like....timing wasn't good....however, it is done now and my launches went well.

Photo not good as I quickly snapped it while DH was getting more screws and a level.
Anyway, as I said my new Catalogue Launches went well and I had some lovely new ladies come along to my place to share in the excitement and to have some fun playing with some of the new products I had preordered.

Here is the first of the two cards they made, which could be a Father's Day card or alternatively they were able to make it into a masculine birthday card. It featured the new Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations Cardstock, 7/8" Cotton Ribbon, the new In Colour Midnight Muse cardstock, Bitty Banners Framelits and of course a favourite stamp set of mine The Open Sea. They were able to compare the old and new style stamp pads using More Mustard and the new In Colours Raspberry Ripple and Midnight Muse.

Here is the second card they made, a Christmas card featuring the new Scentsational Season stamps and coordinating Framelit dies, and Be of Good Cheer DSP and Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.

Everyone had some fun, enjoyed the champagne (Sparkling Pink!) and chocolates, and I look forward to sharing some more ideas at the next three upcoming workshops over the next couple of months, and playing with some more our lovely new products.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week, back to work for me over the next four days!

PS - feel free to leave some comments about my blog makeover as I am still not sure it is what I prefer, may make some further changes when I have the time.

New Catalogues are here!

I know I am a day late announcing the new catalogues available from Stampin' Up!, however, I was busy celebrating their arrival yesterday with two launches at my home with several of my customers and friends. The champagne and chocolate went down well too! Along with the make and takes using some of the new products.

There was not one but TWO catalogues released yesterday...the 2012-2013 Annual Catalogue and the Holiday Catalogue. Click on the images below to view the catalogues or if you would like your own hardcopy version for the low cost of $7 (plus P&H) then email me today! Or maybe you might like to book a workshop with my to be held in your home and for which you can receive a copy of the catalogues FREE!

2012-2013 Annual Catalogue
Holiday Catalogue
Some of the features or things to note from these catalogues:
  • cheaper prices on some items
  • new foam ink pads for better ink coverage for your stamps
  • bundled coordinated products to save you money
  • new stamps, dies, embelishments etc.
My wishlist is SO BIG that I have to try and decide what I need want right now and what I can hold off for a while as they will be out for a while (the Holiday catalogue goes to end January 2013).

I will be running some Product Shares for some of the Embellishments, Papers and Ribbons, so at least you'll be able to get a sample of those without having to spend lots or buy the whole bundle. So stay tuned for those....

With the launch of the new catalogues and the start of Spring I thought it was also time to give my blog a makeover to please bear with me as I put some changes in to place.
